Most people who do not plan to wear bikinis often do bikini waxing because of cultural background, personal health, beauty, or just because you want to follow the latest fashion trends.
Bikini waxing is the removal of pubic hair using lillin. Called bikini waxing because pubic hair is generally extracted so as not to appear when wearing a bikini. The development of current trends assumes that the visible pubic hair will be seen as embarrassing.
What Are the Procedures and What Are the Risks?
Bikini waxing can generally be done in a salon or spa by a trained beauty specialist. Type of bikini waxing also vary, based on the area that will be handled. This difference will also determine the cost of care, including the pain it causes. Here are some types:
Brazilian total wax: removes all hair around the groin and genital organs.
Bikini partial Brazilian wax: hair on groin, labia or vaginal lips, and buttocks removed, leaving a thin line pointing up the navel.
Expanded wax bikini: hair or feather removed to 5 cm inside the bikini border.
Traditional wax bikini: removes only hair outside the area covered by bikini.
In addition to using candles as in the waxing procedure, pubic hair can also be removed with sheared or using thresher cream. If not revoked, there are times when only cut pubic hair. The advantage, bikini waxing is done regularly make pubic hair gradually grow more slowly and more easily revoked.
For those of you who have never bikini waxing, the following procedures will be undertaken.
Someone who will undergo the procedure needs to open all the underwear down to the waist, replaced with panties in the meantime.
If the pubic hair is long, then your hair will be first trimmed with scissors.
A spatula will be used to apply warm wax to pubic hair.
The candle is then covered with plaster.
After the candle has hardened enough, the plaster is pulled quickly so that the pubic hair is pulled up to the roots.
This process will indeed hurt because the pubic area is indeed the most sensitive area. The pain will usually subside within at least five days. There are certain products that can reduce pain, such as topical anesthesia. Therefore, a person who first undergoes this procedure may need to take anti-pain medication, such as ibuprofen, 1 hour before waxing.
In addition to the pain, a person undergoing this process needs to be aware of the possible risks behind bikini waxing:
Folliculitis: infection in hair follicles. This can happen as a result of someone undergoing bikini waxing. In some cases, the infection may progress more seriously into an abscess (pus) that will ultimately require the process of administering antibiotics, and pus release.
Staphylococcus aureus: bacteria that often lead to folliculitis.
There will be a risk of bleeding, although it will not be severe.
There is a small chance that there is hair growing inside.
A person who is undergoing bikini waxing is likely to be allergic to the wax to be used. The skin will tend to be more sensitive after the waxing process. Normally, a moisturizer will be applied to the skin to cool the sensitive post-procedure part. If the skin remains red, itchy, and dry after 24 hours, contact a dermatologist for proper handling.
Immediately consult a doctor if there is redness in the waxing skin area, including the appearance of pus, swelling, and feel sore when touched. In addition, although classified as not easy and more risky, some people do bikinis waxing themselves at home. The thing to remember is that the tools used must be sterile and the products used must be tested safely from BPOM to avoid the risk of infection. Read and follow the product use rules. Different waxing products may have different use rules.
